Worship & Services
In June 2012, Congregation B’nai Israel (Reform) and Congregation Shomray Hadath (Conservative) merged and formed Congregation Kol Ami. We offer a variety of worship opportunities to meet the needs of both our Reform and our Conservative congregants. (2014 High Holy Days information)

Shabbat Services
-
Our Reform services use the Mishkan T’filah prayer book (published by the Central Conference of American Rabbis) and are held every Friday evening at 7pm and every Saturday morning at 8am. Our Saturday morning service is a brief service followed by a light breakfast and interesting conversation.
-
Our Conservative services use Siddur Sim Shalom (published by the Rabbinical Assembly and the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism) and are held every Saturday morning at 9am.
-
Once monthly during the school year, we have a Tot Shabbat service on Friday evening at 6pm. Please call the Jewish Community School office at (607) 734-8122 for additional information.
-
On the first Friday of each month, we have a Shabbat Celebration of Birthdays and Anniversaries at 7pm using Mishkan T’filah.
-
Periodically throughout the year, usually on the first Friday of a month, we have a Shabbat Family Service at 7pm using our own Shabbat Shalanu, Shabbat Shalom prayer book. Our Shabbat Family service is preceded by a casual dinner at 6pm. Please call the Jewish Community School office at (607) 734-8122 for additional information
Jewish Holidays
Congregation Kol Ami celebrates Jewish Holidays on the date on which they occur with a Conservative service beginning at 9am using Siddur Sim Shalom. We also celebrate Jewish Holidays on the Shabbat nearest that holiday with a Reform Shabbat service at 7pm on Friday evening and 8am on Saturday morning using Mishkan T’filah.
Yiskor Services
In addition to Yom Kippur, Congregation Kol Ami observes Yiskor on Shemini Atseret, on the 8th day of Passover, and on the 2nd day of Shavuot with a Conservative service using Siddur Sim Shalom beginning at 9am.
Community Services
Congregation Kol Ami comes together several times during the year for community-wide services and observances. Celebrations and observances include, but are not necessarily limited to, Succot, Hannukah, Tu B’Shevat Seder, Sisterhood Shabbat, Purim, Shabbat Across America, Second Night Passover Seder, and Yom HaShoah.
